The opening ceremony of the Gallery „Balta ” in Spain, Tenerife.
Gallery “Balta” exhibition presented the art project “Wallpaper” by Lina Jonikė and Lina Gutauskienė which was implemented during Kaunas Biennial TEXTILE 7.
Once the artists found old wallpapers which were popular in Soviet times and decided to cover one gallery wall with them. When the wall was covered, the artists interviewed gallery visitors next to it asking to tell stories which associated with the wallpaper. The stories told by the visitors were very personal, nostalgic, related to the childhood. Then the artists repainted these nostalgic memories into 15 meters long art piece.
Lithuanian community living in the island, local island community and guests from other countries were invited to the exhibition. The exposition of exhibition was presented inside of the gallery and in the yard territory.
